111TH Street Gateway Retail Center
The 111th Street Gateway Retail Center – the entry point to the historic National Monument site – with its amenities, is a valuable addition to the Pullman and Roseland community and the surrounding areas. It signals the community is once again becoming a major destination for families, businesses, and visitors.
The Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Star Cleaners, the first retailers to open in the new Gateway Retail Center in 2018, were later joined by three restaurants owned by local entrepreneurs inside the One Eleven Food Hall – Lexington Betty Smokehouse, Majani Soulful Vegan Cuisine, and AndySunflower Cafe. The food hall is the city’s first Food Hall located south of Chinatown. In 2019, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois opened its first-ever Blue Door Neighbor Center at the Retail Center, a place where community members go for free classes and workshops to focus on their health.
